Hazel Findlay is looking for the right candidate to join our Activities Department as Activities Director. Some tasks required are:

• Responsible for performing supervisory duties of activity staff including creating schedules, completing performance reviews, interviews, and training.
• Participates in QAPI program
• Serves as the volunteer coordinator.
• Develops and provides activities to residents at the facility.
• Acts as a liaison with the community as needed.
• Responsible for providing a varied, stimulating, and meaningful activities program to residents.
• Maintains our functional maintenance program including delegating tasks to functional maintenance nurse aides.

Requirements

• Education requirement: Current CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist), and/or 2 years experience in a social/recreational program with the last 5 years and/or current occupational therapist/assistant and/or has completed a has completed a training course approved by the State of Michigan.
• Able to read, write, spell, understand English and do basic math.
• Must be able to verbally communicate with residents, family members, volunteers, the public and other members of the organization.
• Must be enthusiastic, honest, dependable, and exhibit a warm and caring personality.
• Must adhere to the activity department dress code.
• Must be able to safely perform the essential job functions without harm to self or others with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Experience with activities and geriatrics preferred.
• Must adhere to privacy and security for residents and employees according to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements.
